Lymph Node in Breast

by KM28, Jul 07, 2009 06:56AM
Hi - I had been noticing that my left breast was very, very sore during my second pregnancy and when the doctor checked it out she said she felt something "cystic".  I couldn't get a mammogram because I was pregnant.  So the dr. sent me for an ultrasound and all they said they could find was a lymph node where the pain in my breast was.  What is this - is this a sign of cancer?  Should I be concerned?  Will the soreness in my breast ever go away?

Intramammary lymph nodes are not cancer. All lymph nodes can become enlarged for various reasons. As a rule these mammary nodes are not a cause for concern.   Regards ....

i can feel your concern through your words...pls try not to worry..i would think being pregnant could cause your breast to be sore in itself...also if you feel the spot repeatedly you can make it tender. i know ive done it. im not a dr. i first felt a lump  at 24 turned out to be a intramammary lymph node...i went for my mammo today and i still have it...and i am 43 now.
