Lymph node swelling- Doctor unsure

I have noticed some pain, discoloration, and swelling in left armpit. It happened once or twice a year ago near my menstrual cycle. I was told if it came back to let them know. It started again in December and has just gotten worse and it is constant. My doctor sent me for an ultrasound and they said that my lymph nodes were swollen. They said that there was nothing wrong but I am still in pain.

They don't know what is wrong and I am worried...

Have you taken any OTC pain relief medications for the pain? Take them for a few days and see if there is any relief in your symptoms. Do some warm compresses also.

Have you shaved/waxed your underarms recently? Any manicures done lately? Or used a new deodarant?

If your symptoms still persist, you should reconsult with your specialist and talk to him/her about getting a repeat ultrasound to see for any changes in size of the lymph nodes.

If they have increased in size, it would be best to talk about getting a biopsy procedure done to find out the diagnosis. Also discuss with your doctor whether a course of antibiotics is required in your case.
