Lymph nodes

I have a lymph node that i can feel in my armpit.  I had it for about 3 months and it did not increase in size. I keep poking at it too.  I went to my doctor and he said it is too small to be anything serious.  Should i still be worried.

First of all I would stop "poking" it ... lymph nodes can be enlarged for various reasons and some are just naturally larger than others. I suppose a biopsy could be done but since your Dr. doesn't seem concerned then I would doubt that this procedure would be wise. In the abscence of any other symptoms and the fact that it has not changed I wouldn't continue to worry about it.      Regards .....

I agree that poking at it or having a biopsy are probably neither necessary nor helpful.  However, "too small" doesn't make sense to me.  I was able to feel a small lump in my armpit before diagnosis.  If you are worried about this, get a 2nd opinion.  I was told "it's probably nothing" by 3 different doctors, which cost me valuable time with what turned out to be very aggressive breast cancer.  Your doctor is most certainly right.  It PROBABLY is nothing, but it can't hurt to consult someone else if you are still concerned.
