MORE THAN ONE CLUSTER OF MICROCALCIFICATIONS

My mammogram showed 3 clusters of microcalcifications. One was benign appearing and the 2 others which are near my chest wall are slightly suspicious and the Radiologist recommended stereotactic core biopsy.  Is it more concerning when there are more than one cluster of microcalcifications found?

Thank you

Dear Hawaiianholly, Finding more than one cluster of microcalcifications adds a factor in the assessment, in that there are more than one area of suspicion that needs to be investigated.  Without viewing the films and further evaluation it is difficult to comment on the degree of suspicion.
