MRI results... need core biopsy please help

Good evening, my name is Sarah and I a new to this site, I am 36 yrs old with a strong family history of BC, I have been having mamo's for the past three yrs and had one steriotactic biopsy done based on an abnormal mammo 2 yrs ago which proved to be benign.
My last mammo in Aug 2009 showed a small asymmetric area on nodularity so my physician sent me for a MRI, now the mri was negative for the area that was detected by mammo but two addl areas of interest showed up, one on the left breast... report states "in the two oclock axis middl depth there is a linear asymmetric area of nodular enhancement displaying a 5% washout curve which extends over a length 2.6cm, there is moderate ductal enhancement"
the right breast reports ' anterior 10 oclock axis there is a 1 x 0.3 x 0.6 cm masslike area of enhancement displaying a 13% washout curve' both need biopsys and am scheduled on the 9th of dec, time is going so slowley.
My Q is what is the relavence of the washout curve and the % that goes with it, does one look more suspicious than the outher or just diferent? my surgeon said she puts me right at the 50 % mark, ie it could go either way, please tell me what you think.... I have a feeling that the surgeon is sparing me the whole truth, I feel like my odds are worse than 50 50??
thanks
sarah

Thankyou for you reply, I know your right and just have to wait, no point in trying to diagnose myself based on the report but I feel like it is so out of my hands that that is the only thing I can do :(
hopefully the next 8 days go by quickly....
thanks again,

sarah

Hi Sarah,
I really don't think that your doctor is sparing you the truth about anything, because she really doesn't know. All the terms in your report are terms used by radiologist, after viewing the films of all the tests you have done.If a biopsy is recommended it's because what was seen is suspicious and nothing more than that.Only the biopsy followed by a pathologist examination of the tissue can tell if the lesions are benign or not. Many biopsies return a benign finding, even when suspicious,so please don't jump to any conclusion and stressing yourself by thinking of the worst right now.The worst part of all this is the waiting for the biopsy and the results, but there is nothing we can do about it..we all have to go through that terrible time of waiting....just try to be positive and strong and take one step at the time.Wishing you all the best and "BENIGN" findings.Take care..
