Male Breast Lump

by full_of_fear_1971, Mar 19, 2009 01:43PM
My husband is 37, full of energy and in good health.  Approximately 6 weeks ago I found a lump just below is left nipple about the size a dime with a bumpy texture to it.  In general there has been little to no pain associated with this lump.  A couple of days ago he asked me to feel the lump again and before I even reached up to feel it, I could see that is was visually noticable where as it had not been before. When I reached to feel it, it has increased its size X4... at least.  I know the best way to know anything for sure is to go see a doctor and he is ready and willing to do so but he doesn't have insurance at this time.  I purchased an insurance plan for him but it doesn't take effect for a couple more weeks.  Needless to say we are both extremely worried and wish that we could go to the doctor immediately but have to wait 2-3 more weeks.  Just thought someone could shed a little light on the subject for us.  Thanks...

Dear full_of_fear_1971:  Unfortunately, without evaluation, it is impossible to speculate on what this might be.  Perhaps you could go ahead and make the appointment so that when the insurance kicks in, you will be ready.
