Hi, I am a 29 year old mother of two boys. For the last three months, right before my period, I get this pain in my left underarm and it also swells. Well, I went to the dr yesterday. She ordered an ultrasound and mammogram. She said she is pretty sure it is a swollen lymph node. She said I may have fibrocystic disease and this could be happening because of caffeine or it could be hormonal. I am very scared cause it could still be cancer, there is that chance. She tried to reassure me that she really doesn't believe its cancer. She also told me its unusual to have pain if its cancer. She was really supportive and caring but I am really really scared. I was just wondering if anyone had a similar story. Thank You

Dear shellynascar88: Without evaluation, it is impossible for us to speculate on what this might be but it is not uncommon for glandular tissue to swell and become painful at certain times in the menstrual cycle. The mammogram and ultrasound will hopefully clarify this for you.

I am going through exact same scenerio.....I have mamogram (mammogram) on Thursday....I too was told probably caffine....my lump is irregular shape so getting mamogram (mammogram). Please let me know how yours turns out....I am a little worried as well.....although chances are it is NOTHING!!!!!
