I had a mammatone biopsy done 8/18 and will get the results today. I have clustered microcalcifications. They removed 10 in the biopsy. It sounds like microcalcifications that are clustered are pretty high risk for cancer. Is that true?
I know all the research I have done points to that also, but I don't think it has to be. It depends on other factorsFactor ix complex as well. I had the same thing and the biopsy showed abnormal cells and I have to have a lumpectomy and that way we will know if there is cancer. The waiting is the worst.
I am scheduled for a lumpectomy and I am hoping mine had not reached DCIS yet....good luck with your treatment. Did you have a lumpectomy to find this or was it from the small tissue sample ?
I am a few weeks ahead of you...surgery scheduled for the 29th. Do as much reading as you can on EstrogenHormone replacement therapy & Progesterone & HER2....whether they are positive or negative. That seems to be the kicker in what treatments are available. Good luck!
