I have been diagnosed with microcalcifications in my breasts, my mom told me two of her friends had them and had them removed because they are precancerous. My question is, should i insist on having them removed?
Microcalcifications are an indication that something abnormal is going on within the breast tissue. Many that are biopsied will return a benignBenign ear cyst or tumor Benign positional vertigo report ... the "something" that is abnormal doesn't have to be cancer. If the microcalcifications are scattered about in the breast they are of no particular concern .... if they are observed in groups or in certain patterns then a biopsy is required to determine the cause. They are not considered pre-cancerous in any form. If no biopsy was recommended then you don't have anything to worry about. Regards ...
