Micro's, Atypical cells, Mucin, BIRAD 3

Having had 2 biopsys already I had a 3rd Excesional Biopsy ten days ago.  My first 2 came back a BRAD 3 with Mucin and Atypical Cells, they have promised this 3rd biopsy will yeald more information.  My surgeon on the other hand wrote to my GP saying it was Mucinous Carcinoma.  How can this be when path tests not conclusive and a further test having now taken place.  I wanted to know any advice for tomorrow.  If they tell me nothing more needs to be done I am not confindent given everything I have seen and been told.  What should I be asking and how would I get a second opinion in the UK - Thanks so much for all infor.  I am sooo nervous and tense today but want to be clued up for tomorrow

Having your ovaries removed would only be feasible if you tested positive for the breast cancer gene or you had a tumor that proved to be ER+. Otherwise it would be "overkill" for no reason. I understand your concerns but if it is proven to be "nothing" then a normal follow-up would certainly be advised.  Take care ....

Thank you so much.  I am trying to work through both cases.  Both good and not so good news.  If It is Mucinous Carcinoma then fine I will deal with that BUT if they say we will watch you and come back in a year that scares me more!  Im worried something being missed and coming back in a worse state then I started in.  Does that make sense?  I have read somewhere that having Ovaries out can reduce breast cancer.  I wonder if this may help me

If this is truly Mucinous Cancer, though quite rare, it is a very slow growing cancer that does not invade the lymphatic system and does not metastisize to other parts of the body. Most often these cancers are ER/PR+. If you get a diagnosis that you aren't comfortable with then ask your Physician about 2nd opinions; no Physician should object to such a request.  Good Luck .....

You may seek 2nd opinion of pathology, try to find a good pathologist to have a clear conclusion of biopsy findings.  Take care.
