Mom has Breast advanced cancer

My mother is 69 and has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Large tumor in breast area and one in her spine (she has had radiation for pain relief). She is taking Famara only. They say it is stage four cancer and should expect to live 3 to 4 years. The cancer has traveled to her skull and has caused complete blindness in one eye and partial blindness in the other. I would like to know what to expect next. I know that it is impossible to know the future, especially since all cases are different, but would anyone happen to offer advice, knowledge, etc..? They are not planning anymore measures to "cure" her because they say they can't cure her, only treat her. No follow-up calls from anyone either at this point.

Thank you.

Dear joeeno, The goal of treatment for advanced cancer is to control the disease and symptoms for as long as possible.  As you said no one knows the future and how long you, your mother and family will be dealing with this disease or what might happen next.  It is important to continue to see your health care providers who although cannot cure the disease can help you as care needs change.  We find it important with our patients with advanced cancer, to keep in touch through regular appointments, even if the patient is feeling well and is having no problems.  This way if something occurs we have seen the patient relatively recently, or have picked up on potential problems before they become a crisis.  This way appropriate care is offered as needed.
