Mondors - average time to recover?

Mondors - average time to recover?

I'm an African American woman 55 years of age and this has been one of the scariest periods of my life.  2 weeks ago I found a small lump...tender to the touch.  I immediately made an appointment with my Dr who set up a mamogram (mammogram) appointment.  3 days later after a strenuous workout class, 3 small additional lumps showed up while I was showering only to disappear that night.  The next morning I woke up to 2 hard cord-like veins (didn't know they were veins at that time) and super tenderness in my right breast.  I tried to live with this for a couple of days, couldn't sleep or eat, thinking the very worst. I finally made another appt. with my Dr. and she had never seen a change so dramatic, moved in my mamogram (mammogram) and got me an appt. with a specialist.  After mamogram (mammogram) and ultrasound was told by the technicians that it wasn't cancer.  The specialist finally came in and did the exam and pronounced it Mondors.  What a relief.  The change in my breast was  sudden but I'm told that this can last for several weeks....maybe months.  I'm curious, what has been the average for those of you who have been diagnosed with Mondors?

Hi,
Glad to know that your mammogram /Ultrasound report was negative for cancer. Mondor’s disease is a benign disorder of the breast. It is a thrombophlebitis of the superficial veins of the breast. It may occur from wearing very tight clothes, infection, inflammation, recent surgery or trauma to the breast. It presents as a cord like under the skin. The healing could  take up to 12 weeks to go away altogether.
Treatment usually consists in applying warm, moist compresses, gently massaging the breast, wearing a good supportive bra and if you have pain, you could take an over the counter anti-inflammatory medication such as aspirin or ibuprofen).
Resting the arm and supporting the breast on the affected side will help it to heal faster.
Hoping that soon you'll feel better.
Best wishes..
