My Results.....Get a Second Opinion?

Hello all,

Well yesterday I went for my core needle Ultrasound guided breast biopsy. In April while I was expecting they found a lump so I did an ultrasound and they said it was b3 probable fibroadenoma (at that time I could definitely feel the lump b/c it was quite large) about 2.cm. So they wanted me to follow up 6 months later with another ultrasound and that is when they were suspicious b/c they saw 2 lumps one that was 5mm and another that was 1.3 cm they said it was solid mass and that they wanted me to do this biopsy.

To make a long story short, I haven't been able to feel the lump recently so when I went in yesterday the nurse could only see one little cyst and a lymph node (which is normal). They couldn't find the lump and the radialogist said it could have been a cyst that might have just disappeared or decreased in size.

She told me that cancerous lumps never change in terms of getting smaller, they grow larger. So they didn't do the biopsy but she told me to just do a self exam every month just to make sure.

Do you guys think I should go for another ultrasound in a different place or do you think I am okay for now?

Thank You....this was such a relief!!!

Sorry, the medical professional only answers the initial question. I have a breast cyst (4x5 cm) which I consider large. I also have very small ones. I think cysts can be about any size.

Hi

Thanks for the comment but do you suggest that I go for another ultrasound.  Are cysts of the breast usually smaller and fluid filled?  Do you think my cyst was inflammed and it turned out to seem like a lump?

Thanks

Dear Cally44, Without being able to review the films etc it is difficult to comment.  That the findings that were seen on the earlier ultrasound are no longer apparent is less suspicious that this was a cancer problem.
