Dear healthcareaccuracy,   Lymphoma is not one diease, but rather consists of about 20 different types of tumors.  The different tumor types have different prognosis associated with them.  In some cases even with extensive disease, successful treatment can lead to disease free "remissions".  It is difficult without knowing her baseline what her doctors are meaning when they say she'll "get better" with treatment.  This is a good question to pursue with them - the goals of treatment and hoped for benefit.
