Hi-
I am a college student in Hawaii. I am originally from Illinois. My parents live there still. My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer following a routineRoutine sputum culture mammogram. She had the lumpLumps in the breasts removed and is now being told she must have chemotherapy, radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy and hormone therapy. I am having trouble completely understanding her situation becasue I am so far away and do not get to talk to her doctors.
My main concern right now is her new perscription of Coumadin which was perscribed after they tried to use her port to give her her firstFirst progesterone mc10 First progesterone mc5 First-progesterone vgs 100 First-progesterone vgs 200 First-progesterone vgs 25 First-progesterone vgs 400 First-progesterone vgs 50 First-testosterone First-testosterone mc Chemo treatment. I have heard interesting things about Coumadin with my past experience working in a hospital setting. Could you tell me some of the things I should be worried about in terms of her side effects and how they will effect her along with the chemo. What will she be feeling like? What are the long term effects of this drug?
Also, she will be getting Nulasta on Monday. Are there any issues we should worry about according to her long term health while taking the new drug nulasta?
Thank you so much for your time- I really hope the information you give me will help me better understand my mom's fight.
