Hi,
You must obviously be in a state of confusion regarding the approach but what you need to understand is that you could have calcifications which your doctor might be targetting for a biopsy and which he could not obtain via USG as calcium deposits are not picked up on USG. X-ray-guided or sterotactic breast biopsy is an excellent way to evaluate calcium deposits or tiny masses that are not visible on ultrasound.
I think you should go ahead with the procedure and ask your doctor when can you have the results and what possible differential diagnosis is he suspecting.

Hi,
Kindly do undergo the procedure as suggested by your medical officer. Ultrasound of the breasts in combination with mammography is routinely used as a screening tool to screen breast abnormalities. the procedure mentioned by your doctor is better tool for targeting the lesion to be biopsied for the histo-pathological diagnosis. Hence do certainly undergo the investigation.
