Need for concern??

I posted incorrectly previously. This is supposed to be a question that I am hopefully gonig to get some help with or some relief from my anxiety with.
I am having an excisional biopsy of a breast mass on Wednesday, May 14..  I have since noticed the breast overall is swollen and also the nipple is inverted. I did not feel the mass, and the mammogram and ultrasound done 2 times were negative. My gynecologist has felt the mass for the past 3 examinations with the last exam showing the mass has grown in size and become more irregular in shape.  Am I unnecessarily freaking out over this. I'm 56 and have no history of breast cancer in my family.  Thank you so much.

I would notify the surgeon of this, even though your biopsy is scheduled for Wed.

What is your question? It sounds like your doctor has been doing the right things, and biopsy appears to be the next logical step. Waiting for the biopsy and results is the hardest part, but a biopsy is the only way to know for sure what the mass is, especially since the mammo and US didn't help. Some doctors do MRI too, but with your mass growing quickly and becoming irregular, it seems you should just get to the biopsy right away. Hang in there, and be sure to ask what is the soonest you can expect your results. Good luck.
