Need help on interpreting Sonogram for Breasts

Sonography of right and left breasts

In the right breast, at the 8 o'clock location, there is periareolar ductal dilatation.

In the left breast, at the 6 o'clock location, there is a periareolar cyst measuring 0.7x0.6x0.8cm. There are axillary lymph nodes

impression:
1) right breast ductal dilatation
2) left breast cyst, 6 o'clock location and axillary lymph nodes.

** my right breast has been hurting lately. the pain comes and goes but it's been 3 months now. all I can understand is that my right breast has some kind of inflammation? left breast has a cyst and the lymph nodes in my left armpit is swollen? guessing...

My dr just told me. No need to worry... but i wanted to know more... what are these?
Can someone please explain.
Please.

Dear bloodelf, Periareolar dilitation is inflamation (inflammation) of the ducts surrounding the areola of the breast.  A cyst is a fluid-filled structure. They mention axcillary lymphnodes which is a normal finding, in this report they do not mention anything about these lymphnodes being swollen. How these findings relate to your symptom of pain is impossible to say over the internet out of context (knowing your history and physical examination).
Breast pain is a common breast symptom.  The reason for breast pain is not clearly understood, and is not usually associated with breast cancer.  Breast pain is sometimes associated with hormonal variations and is then called cyclical breast pain.  Noncyclical breast pain does not seem to be linked to hormonal variations and is often localized to one area of the breast tissue.  Noncyclical breast pain may or may not be the result of an injury to the breast.
Your doctor would best able to interpret the findings in context of your history and physical examination.
