Need treatment for Breast Cancer which has spread to both lungs

My sister-in-law was diagnosed with breast cancer last year.  She had a lumpectomy, was given chemo (Tamoxfin, I think), and was radiated.  It has now spread to both lungs and in one lung, it is in the heart muscle.  She was told that she is a candidate for Herceptin becaue of her HR2 receptor.  However, there has been no decision as to what course of action to take at this time and it appears she is in a desperate situation.  Will the herceptin work for her at this point.  She was told that she may need stem cell therapy.  Do you know of anything that will help her?

Dear Poodle: Most likely the Herceptin will be part of a program that includes other chemotherapy.  Depending on what chemotherapy she had a year ago, and her current general health will determine what will be recommended at this time.  Usually the chemotherapy recommended will be a combination of different drugs.
