Nipple Pimple

I am 25 years old and I understand that pimples on your nipple are normal.  I have had one on my left nipple for about a year now and it just keeps getting bigger.  It is probably about 5-6 mm in diameter.  I showed it to my doctor several times and she dosen't think it's anything, but I am still concerned.  The other day it turned purple.  I have been breast feeding with it for 9 months now and this is the first time I have had a problem with it turning colors.  I guess I am just concerned and would like a second opinion on if I should be. Thanks.

Hi,

Pimples on the breast can occur, just like on skin anywhere else.

You could do a breast self exam and report any abnormal features that you might notice - a breast lump, skin changes or nipple discharge etc.

You should keep the area clean, wear lose clothes and see if the pimple goes away in a few days.

If the pimple does not resolve in a few days consult your physician or a breast specialist for a clinical evaluation.

Let us know if you have any other doubts and keep us posted on how you are doing and what does your physician advise.

Regards.
