Nipple bleeding after biopsy

One week ago today I had a breast biopsy done (lumpectomy) everything went well at first but I am now very sore and my breast is every color of the rainbow including black it is becoming very tender and I have bright red blood discharge from my nipple.The incision looks great though.My follow up is tommrow so I will be seeing my doctor I was just wondering if anyone could give me a quick option on the bleeding before I go.     Thanks

Dear mokie78:  From what you describe of the appearance of your breast, there is indication that there is blood within the tissue - hematoma or bruising.  More than likely, this is simply leaking out through the nipple.

When you've had a biopsy in which there's that much discoloration (which really isn't all that unusual) it means there's blood in the tissues from the biopsy. It can leak out through the nipple as a result. In the context of early post-op, it's highly unlikely to be anything else.

Hi, me left breast was bleeding a few days ago.. it is not dry cracked sore and i am not pregnant.. it just started to bleed and i got really scared really quick. Can you please answer me as to what the problem might me .. thank you very much
