Nipple bleeding

Last month a few days from my period I noticed by right nipple was bleeding bright red but I had no pain or anything and the bleeding stopped.   I'm about to start my period again and notice that the breast is hurting more than the normal pre-menstrual pain, but no bleeding so far.   I'm 39 years old and have no problems in the past.  Should I be worried or is this something that happens every once in awhile as you get older.

Blood from your nipple is not normal.  I would get that checked out as soon as possible.  But don't totally worry yourself sick because you could have an infection and all kinds of other things...it does not mean you have cancer.  But it does need to be looked at asap.

That will worry you sick until you find out whats going on and believe me...you need peace of mind.  So make an appt for your primary doc or a GYN doc if you already have one.   Don't put it off...just make an appt right away.  Regardless if its an infection or any other cause...it HAS to be taken care of and the sooner the better.   You hang in there and come back and let us know what you found out.  Please don't panic...but do take care of this.
