One nipple is unresponsive + small lumps in arm pit (painful only to touch)

I'm 32 years old with a long family history of breast cancer. My nipples usually go hard when they're touched or when I'm cold.   For a week I've noticed that my left nipple is totally unresponsive to cold or to touch, though the right one is immediately responsive as they both are usually.

Is this on its own, something to worry about? Or is this normal? I've never experienced this before.

I've also noticed two very small hard lumps in my right arm pit. I noticed it when I scratched there recently and felt my under arm was painful when pressed. I have no pain there whatsoever without applying pressure. The two lumps are very very small, but not pimples - they're under the skin.  Any advice would be appreciated.

You're welcome!
It's really hard to tell...I could be nerve or hormone related but I don't think it's a medical problem. In my opinion this has nothing to do with breast cancer.
However, if you are truly worried about it,consult your health care provider who would be your best source of information.
Take care...

Thanks for replying. I'll relax about the small lumps under my arm and will monitor them.

My left nipple is not numb or without sensation, it just doesn't respond to touch or to the cold, in that it doesn't harden like the right nipple does. I've never had this before. Is this common?

Many thanks

Hi,
Loss of nipple sensation usually occurs after breast surgery or nipple vasoconstriction, when the blood vessels in the nipple tighten and do not let enough blood through. This problem can cause numbness in response to cold, nursing, or injury.
Lumps in the armpit could be something as simple as cysts or infection caused by shaving or use of antiperspirants (as opposed to deodorants).
These lumps could also indicate swollen lymph nodes that is often caused by bacterial or viral infections.I doubt that your symptoms indicate breast cancer, but if these lumps in your armpit enlarge or persist,I think it would be wise to see your doctor for evaluation .
Best wishes..
