PAIN WITH RECURRENCE

PAIN WITH RECURRENCE

I AM A BREAST CANCER SURVIVOR, I HAVE BEEN OUT OF TREATMENT FOR ALMOST A YEAR...BACKGROUND BEFORE I BEGIN, IT WAS STAGE 2- ESTROGEN,PROGESTERONE AND HER2 MARKERS, LUMPECTOMY, CHEMO,RAD.-NO TAMOXIFEN. I AM HAVING PAIN ON AND OFF OFTEN IN SAID BREAST, PAIN IN UNDERLYING RIBS, DEADENING FINGERS ON SAME SIDE, SLIGHTLY INVERTED  NIPPLE...TOO MUCH SCAR TISSUE TO DETERMIINE LUMPS, BUT FEEL SOMETHING... WOULD THE PAIN BE A RINGER SYMPTOM OF THIS BEING A DEFINITE RECURRENCE? HAVE NO INSURANCE AND AM SCARED. WHAT WOULD MY POSSIBLE LIFESPAN BE WITHOUT TREATMENT? BALLPARK PLEASE

Dear Becsven, Your symptoms do not necessarily indicate that this is a recurrence. This could be caused by scar tissue that, although it has been awhile since your surgery and radiation, could be causing some of this discomfort.  However, you should have this rechecked to be sure.  More evaluation would be needed to confirm if this was indeed a recurrence.
