Last week I went swimming and the next day had a pain in my underarm but ignored it thinking it was because I had been swimming. Then I felt under my arm the next day and found a lumpLumps in the breasts. It's about the size of a big grapeGrape seed oil and it moves when i touch it and its very painfulPainful menstrual periods all under my armpitArmpit lump area. I have got an appoinment at the breast clinic in 10 days time, but I had to go back to the doctor 3 days ago because the pain got worse, and she as put me on antibiotics,in case it is an infection. I am 3 days into the course and the pain isnt getting any better. I am really scared that this might be breast cancer, but I have also read lots of other things that it could be. Has anyone had similar?
Hi sarah111,
How are you? I’m sorry to hear about your worsening pain. There are plenty of reasons for an armpitArmpit lumplumpLumps in the breasts, these could be: bacterial, viral or fungal infection, cancer or just benign cyst or lipoma. It would be good to finish your antibiotic treatment and you could take pain medications if the pain persists. A follow-up will be good to assure you of the doctor’s diagnosis which his just an infection, and erase any doubts of breast cancer.
