Pink Spot, your help is appreciated!

About three weeks ago I had a red spot on my left breast about the size of a half dollar, it was smooth like the rest of my skin and started out as what seemed to be some kind of allergic reaction because it was tender. It became less tender and turned pink and it went away within a week. About two weeks later I got the same thing except on the other breast, it has been about a week since I got it and has faded a lot. I am nineteen years old, with no known history of breast cancer in my family, but i am scared to death and have been researching non stop about IBC. Is this a typical symptom? Should I see a doctor? Again, your help is much appreciated:)

thanks

PS: it would help if you changed to being a female rather than the way you show up now, as a male. You will need to do this on your profile selections. It really sometimes is confusing to us as men cqan have breast cancer as well.  Take care, and welcome to the forum.

It's fine, even important that you see the doctor if you think that is best, and also to get reassurance.. My words are  just an opinion but I do not live in or with your body.

I do not believe this is cancer, and for sure not IBC, as those just do not present itself in the manner you described. That does not mean it isn't something else, and many things may show up in the future there or elsewhere and it's important to look out for what you need, OK.

I can really understand being worried about something showing up that had not been there before; I always worry about  the unfamiliar.  Best, Katrin

thank you katarina! i know it seems ridiculous but i tend to over worry about my health, so these symptoms seems very serious to me :( and no to any of the above. i sleep on my stomach (which i thought might contribute to it) ,and tend to get skin infections along with cysts and other weird things. i think i might go to the doctor just to stop worrying. thanks again:) :)

No, Rachel, you shouldn't be worried about breast csncer and it's not IBC.

I am not sure what you have but it sounds like a skin problem as one can have any other place of the skin?

Did you buy a new bra or new sheets or anything like tht? Laundry detergent? Or did you lie on something?

Sometimes, weird things can also happen with birthcontrol pills. Are you on those?
