Please help~does this sound like just a rash or could it be the begining of IBC?

Hi~

I have had a very faint pink rash on a part of my right breast for about 6 weeks now.  It does not itch or burn and does not cover the entire breast.  It also comes and goes.  I saw a local breast sugeon who said it looks ok and told me to come back in a month.  I also had a mammo done after the first breast consult.  Then I decided to go to a breast expert at a University teaching hospital in Phila..  She told me that my mammo would show a thickening around the outer layer of skin if IBC was developing and mine was fine.  Matched up to last years mammo perfectly.  She thinks it is just a minor rash.  I am still nervous.  Any advice?  Should I request a biopsy.  She knows her stuff and I have no other symptoms but the faint rash that comes and goes.

I would trust your doctor on this. If you notice any further, and weird changes, you can always go back.
With IBC there is also usually an inverted nipple.

Hi, since you have been checked by experts about breast cancer and they all said that you are okay,have you tried to see a dermatologist? This could very well be an allergy.Are you using a new lotion,soap,detergent?.Has the skin of your breast come in contact with a pet or maybe the fabric of a new clothing you never wore before?All this should be considered because allergies can cause rashes without itching or burning.I hope you'll find an answer for your rash soon.Best wishes.
