Port for chemo

by sumanb, Jun 21, 2007 05:18PM
MY oncologist wants to use insert a tube in my arm instead of a port. The tube will be sticking out from my arm for the duration of the treatment. I have not heard this. Has anyone done this?

There is another name for it, but I forget. My son has been going thru chemo fro over 2 years and I have noticed most of the patients had the line in their arms not chest. I am awaiting the results of my biopsy, if it's possitive and I require chemo, I would have to have the arm not chest as I have a pacemaker.
Have you done a google search?
