Possible fibroadenoma questions...

Hello,
I am 22 years old, 30 weeks pregnant and I discovered a lump on my left breast. I went for and ultrasound of the area yesterday and ended up leaving the hopspital after having a biopsy done. They said it was probably a fibroadenoma which is most common for my age group and ethnicity. I am hoping that this is the case because as I said I am expecting in a couple months. This leads to my question, if there isn't anything worse found through the biopsy, I am assuming I would have to remove it. Is this safe to do while I am pregnant? What is the recovery time and will I be able to breastfeed as I planned to? This is one of my biggest concerns.

Yes, having the lump removed is safe during pregnancy (to an extent..there can always be unforseen complications).  As for breastfeeding, check with a lactation consultant on that one.  I don't think it will, but you need to get some doc advice for that question.

I didn't have a biopsy done while breastfeeding because it would potentially have messed with the breastfeeding and caused other issues.  I had the biopsy done after I stopped breastfeeding (which I had to stop because I found myself pregnant).

Good luck to you, I know finding a lump while pregnant makes for a LOT of extra stress during what is supposed to be a very happy time.  I'm hoping you and your baby will live long and lumpless!  :)
