Possible radiation side effect?

My mother received 10 radiation treatments to a soft tissue tumor betweeen L2 and L3.  This tumor is in addition to/conjunction with bone mets.  Radiation ended 7 days ago.  She is still having nausea and stomach pain (intense after certain foods).  Is this normal?  Radiation approach was front and both sides. She starts Zometa Thursday.

Dear lisa mac, Considering the location of the radiation it is unlikely that the radiation itself is causing the nausea and stomach pain.  However, medications used in conjunction with radiation such as steroids or pain medications might be the cause of her symptoms. Check with your mother's doctor so they can assess the pain and nausea she is experiencing and treat appropriately.
