Post mastectomy mammography

Post mastectomy mammography

I am a mammographer and am wondering what is the current thinking on Post mastectomy mammography, whether the patient has had reconstruction or not.  Also if the reconstruction is done with the tunneling of abdominal adipose tissue is there a possibility of developing breast cancer in this tissue as the breast is composed of fatty tissue as well as fibroglandulat tissue.
Thank you for your time.

Dear mammo, Mammograms are still performed on patients who have had TRAM flap surgery, usually limited to the side views, not compression views so as not to disturb the surgical result.  Yes there is the possibility of developing breast cancer in the reconstructed tissue.
