Thanks for the reply post. She will be getting additional diagnostic procedures done on Monday. I will add those results to the discussion.

Dear billretired: If there is residual breast tissue, mammography or some other breast imaging could likely be recommended for follow up. While a recurrence could cause discomfort, it often doesn’t. Scar tissue, on the other hand, often causes pain or discomfort. You might discuss with your doctor when imaging is due and whether this could be moved up to help clear up the concern.
There is rarely any pain associated with breast cancer. Scar tissue sounds a likely cause but if your wife continues to experience this pain perhaps she should consult her original Surgeon. He/She would be the best person to evaluate this problem. This may sound too simple but could this be due to some muscle strain; perhaps due to something that she might not even be aware of doing ??
