Pregnancy after breast cance

I had breast cancer 5 years ago (stage I).I had radiation and also chemotherapy. Now I`m concidered to be healthy.My cancer wasn`t hormon positive, now I`m 37. Once when I was 26 I had a miscarriage. Since the chemotherapy I didn`t become pregnant.Can I take any hormon therapy to helped to become pregnant?What are the risks?Is that possible that I became infertil?

Dear Paula, There are several factors that could contribute to problems with difficulty conceiving a child, and effects of certain chemotherapies could be part of that.  Discussion with your gynecologist and perhaps an infertility specialist could help to determine what is the situation in your case.  

Certain types of assisted reproduction techniques such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) or donor eggs involve treatment with cyclical estrogen and progestins to prepare the uterus; IVF also involves drugs to stimulate ovulation.  However, there is just not enough data available that can answer the question as to whether assisted pregnancy and using these hormones whether in hormone receptor positive or negative situations is safe.

I read a few months ago about a study where they were using Tamoxifen to help women get pregnant after having had chemo.  Apparently, Tamoxifen causes an initial surge of hormones that increase the chances.  You'll have to read about the study for the details.  Go to:
