Previous breast abscess/new problems same breast

Hi,

A few year's ago I suffered from a breast abscess in my right breast.  This was treated with antibiotics which didn't do the trick and eventually I had it surgically drained 3 or 4 times before it completely healed.  Since then I've had no problems but recently in the same breast I am getting an almost constantly itchy nipple, there doesn't appear to be a lump or anything in my breast but I have also noted (only this weekend actually) that the same side as this breast (my right arm) my arm is really feeling very tired - this sounds strange I know but when I lift my arm to blow dry my hair it is really quite painful and today I hoovered and the ache from this arm is incredibly painful.

I do suffer other health problems which should be unrelated, I have chronic pancreatitis (basically under control but still using morphine twice daily, I also am suffering depression and I have a cortisol deficiency).

Right now I really don't want any other health problems to worry about but I am feeling quite concerned about this breast problem.  I have ruled out the use of new soap and washing products, it isn't to do with this.

Can you advise me what might be the problem, could it be the abscess is returning or could it be a sign of something more serious like breast cancer?

I look forward to receiving your response.

Thanks.  Karen

I can't see any connection between the itchy nipple and the issue with your arm. I would advise you to see your Physician for a clinical breast exam and any other testing that might be appropriate. The discomfort in the arm could be cause by many things and of course there is no way we can even venture a guess over the internet without benefit of examination. I think your best option would be with your Dr. for both problems.   Regards .....
