Problems 7 Months After Breast Reduction

by lfm1960, Jul 19, 2008 03:03PM
I had breast reduction surgery 7 months ago.  I had a horrible infection immediately following surgery in my right breast.  It took about 2 months to clear up.  About 3 months ago, I started getting knots/lumps in my right breast and having considerable breast pain.  I've seen the surgeon many times and he says this is normal.  I don't know what to do from here.  I've talked to others that have had breast reduction and they have never had any pain like this.  Any advice on what I should use?  The plastic surgeon that did my surgery did not use drain tubes.  Can this be blood clots or tumors?  Thanks.

Dear lfm1960:  Without evaluation, it is impossible to speculate on what might be causing your lumpiness and discomfort.  After surgery and infection, there are many possible explanations including scar tissue formation.  Your plastic surgeon will be best equipped to discuss with you.  Since you do not appear to be getting the answers you are requesting, you might ask more specific questions.  If you are still concerned, consider a second opinion with a different plastic surgeon.
