I'm getting ready to start radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy. Was just curious.... how burned did you get? The radiologist recommended getting a bra - one that has a long panel on the bottom? Is that a good idea?
I was advised not to wear a bra at all. I wore tank tops with a shirt over it and you couldn't tell. They gave me some ointment like stuff to apply. For me, it was not too much of a bad deal.
I had radiationCystitis - noninfectious Radiation therapy 2 years ago and I was allowed to wear a bra, no under wire. Tried to find soft material, preferably cotton. Used the ointments to keep the skin soothed. For me it was like a bad sunburnSunburn Sunburn first aid. I made it through 6 weeks with not too much of a problem. Best wishes to you.
I think everyone is different how they will react to the radiation and not all treatments are the same either. I think they should have had a meeting with you explaining all these things. Have you met yet with Oncologists?
I finished my 37 treatments of radiation in May. My skin got a little red, but I did not have any trouble wearing my bra. Everyone is a little different. A lady that was going through treatment as the same time as I experienced nausia immediately following her treatment. Radiation treatment for me was a breeze, but maybe I'm comparing that to the Chemotherapy.
