Radiation in breast cancer

I heard there was a special cream that can be applied to the area during the radiation that will keep the skin from burning and keep in fairly moist, but you have to ask for it, the Dr. won't suggest it. Can you tell me what the name of the cream is?

My doc recommended a lotion called Oat Beta-Glucan that you have to request a CVS pharmacist to order.  It's about $50 a tube but well worth the money.  Also, you can get this band-aid/patch thing from any medical supply place called Vigilon (expensive, too, but worth it).  You apply the patch thing, which is a water based stuff, on the radiation area where the burn is starting to appear (there will be spots that get worse than others, especially along the edges and right at your neck) and let it sit for about 2-4 hours once or twice a day.  It really does a good job putting moisture back into the skin and it's cooling.  The glucan stuff helps with rapid healing and also keep the skin supple.

Most people use udder cream lotion which works pretty good to a point.
