Red knot on breast

I have just developed a red knotty place on my right breast just above the areola and is very tender and sore. I am very worried about it but I am not going to say anything to anyone yet so no one will be bothered with it. I am just wondering if anyone else has has any problems such as this. I have also had a breast augmentation about five years ago and it is very hard to check for lumps. I do know that I have fibercystic tumors but this is unlike anything I have ever felt before. So if anyone knows please let me know what I should do.

Hi.
The tender knot on your right breast could be a localized infection like a beginning abscess.  Fibrocystic changes can also cause tenderness on the area involved, especially when the hormone levels are changing that happens during menstruation.  However, breast cancer can also present initially with the same symptom.
It would be best to consult a breast specialist for evaluation.
