Dear Dakota163, BIRADS is a score given to a finding on a mammogram. A BIRADS category of 4 describes a suspicious looking abnormality, and further evaluation of this abnormality will likely be recommended – such as a biopsy just to be sure of what this abnormality is.
A BIRADS 4 score means that a suspicious lesion was found and a biopsy is required to ascertain the nature of the lesion. There is a possibility of malignancy.
Thank you for responding.
During the biopsy the radioligist said to the Ultrasound Tech. that the mass was very rubbery. Does that mean anything? They took five tissue sample's and put in a clip.
