Rope-like lump

I have a small rope-like lump that is slightly painful. It is about 5 inches below my left armpit, and about 4 inches from my breast, moving towards my back. It just started very suddenly. I have annual breast and mammogram exams, but this lump isn't really close enough to my breast, but I am guessing I have lymph nodes in this proximity I am describing. Should I be concerned?

It certainly sounds like it is lymph node related. It wouldn't hurt to have your Dr. take a look at it ... lymph nodes become enlarged for a number of reasons; some requiring treatment. Regards ....
