Dear Esam, With the cancer spreading into the lining of the lung, surgery to remove a lung would not be an option. It would most likely cause more harm than good. Check with her oncologist or radiation oncologist regarding the pain management. It sounds like there needs to be an adjustment with her pain medications, or sometimes a combination is needed to deal with differing types of pain. Hopefully the radiation will help to relieve some of the discomfort. Another avenue that might be explored is whether some type of anesthesia pain management might be helpful such as a nerve block.
