I had a mammogram a year ago that was completly normal. I found a lump, went to my doctor, had a mammagram and an ultr-sound.Both tests came back showing multiple cysts in both breasts. Can cysts show up this fast? Can cancer grow this fast? Is cysts common in women when they are peri-menipausal.

Fibrocystic breast condition affects half of all women and this is usually due to hormonal changes in the body.
Cysts that are classified as simple cysts, have virtually no chance of containing malignancy.They do not need to be aspirated (unless they are causing discomfort or are preventing adequate mammographic compression and evaluation) and they do not need short-interval follow-up. While malignancy inside a simple cyst is virtually unknown, it is necessary to survey the tissues surrounding the cyst as well as the cyst itself.
Women who are perimenopausal are most likely to find cysts. The fluid in a cyst can be drained with a fine-needle aspiration if they enlarge or become painful.Otherwise  they are left alone.
Try to limit your caffeine intake....because it can help shrink the cysts .Also Vitamin E and primrose oil could help.But you have to ask your doctor before taking any vitamin.

Some people are  predisposed to getting cysts. I am one of them. I have never had cancer.
