Side effects after cyst aspiration

by Petersell, Dec 12, 2003 12:00AM
Hi,
I had two cysts aspirated on my right breast 7 days ago(lower outer quadrant). Cysts where both big, one about 3 cm. Fluid was clear and my physician told me that I do not have to worry about it. If they reaccur she would aspirate again. Morning after I went to the gym and worked out couple of hours(high level). Since then pain developed around the aspiration area and in my armpit and even in my right arm and even in my upper right back. I have had pain like that in the past but not as bad and only turing my period. Right now pain just comes and goes. More I think and worry about it more pain I have. There is no pain at night when I sleep or in the morning when I get ready to go to work. Is this some kind of side effect to cyst aspiration or should I be worried. How to relieve this pain in case it is normal? How long this pain lasts? Can I work out? I've been trying to relive pain with aspirin. Not very successfully.
Thank you

Dear Petersell, It may be that you over exerted yourself in the workout, or there is some bruising causing the pain.  Give your physician a call and explain the situation, they will be able to assess the situation with some questions, such as; any other problems? swelling? bruising? and determine what follow up needs to happen.  Hold off on working out until you have had this checked out.
