Small red spots on breast and sore armpits

by KWEST, Feb 10, 2003 12:00AM
Small red spots have been popping up on the outside of my breasts over the last few months (I currently have four, they don't go away, but they don't really get any bigger either.) They are not acne, and their appearance is the same; a small, or tiny, red patch with tiny spider veins around them. Over the last few days I have developed sore armpits (lower), soreness beside the top of each breast, and soreness between my breast. It really hurts if I try to rub the areas. My breasts feel "full" like they felt when I knew it was time to nurse, but it's been three years since I was last pregnant. There is no chance of my being pregnant now. I don't really have any other noticeable symptoms that I have read about on the internet, but I'm really nervewracked because I've been reading a lot about IBC. I'm only 31 and otherwise very healthy (I do have a low white blood cell count, but I don't think it's related); does this sound like any other cases that you've heard of? My GYN can't fit me in for two more weeks. Thank you for your help.

Dear KWEST, What you describe does not sound like inflammatory breast cancer.  However, it is difficult to say without being able to ask questions and examine.  Could this be related to your menstrual cycle? Have you started a new activity lately, using upper body muscles?
