Hi,
If your breast pain (mastalgia) is cyclical, meaning that it's related to your menstrual cycle, then it's a normal occurrence due to hormonal fluctuation, and it accounts for nearly 75% of all breast complaints.Breast pain may occur in one or both breasts or in the underarm (axilla) region.
Women who experience non-cyclical breast pain,is not as common...It often occurs in one specific area of the breast. The pain can be felt in both pre-menopausal and post-menopausal women and usually subsides after one to two years.Non-cyclical pain is most common in women between 40 and 50 years of age and usually it does not indicate breast cancer.
However, since you have this pain for a few months,it would be best to discuss the condition with your physician who might want to run some tests, to make sure that there isn't an underlying problem..
Best wishes.
