Soreness in arms after surgery

Hi!I have taken your assistance and opinion during my needle biopsy and open biopsy of a lump in my armpit. The lump was removed 2 weeks back and that it came as lipomas.The area of incision is about 3 inches across my hairline in the armpit. The incision is healing O.K with a twinge of pain here and there and some slight swelling. Last week I realised that there was pain radiating from the incision, down my inside of  upper arms till my elbows.Its painful to  touch and day by day painful to lift my hands vertically up. There is no swelling or change in colour.The incision is not painful by itself. Do u think its some kind of complication or a process of healing.How long will such pain last.Should I do some exercise. This question may not fit into this forum but it will help me  to understand this pain till I meet my doc..Thanks for all the assistance you have rendered  me.

Dear Annautum, This is likely part of the healing process that will take some more time.  You may want to check with your surgeon just so they are aware of what is happening with you, and make a decision if they should see you sooner.

I am sorry I did not mention that the surgery was done on my right armpit.

Most likely it will go away. What you describe is irritation of a sensory nerve; lots of them travel thru the armpit. It can take a few weeks, but most likely it will go away. I'm pretty sure no one would recommend re-exploring the area at this eartly time in the recovery period. Best to let your surgeon know what's going on, though.

I have had a small ball under the right armpit for two years and a small grease or air pocket under my left centre for 8 years or more.   What do you think that they could be?
