Please, I don't want to wait. Just some ballpark numbers. Stage 3, fist size tumor, biopsy shows lymph node involvement and invasive. What is the survival rate?
My hospital would not give me a copy of my pathology report, although they did provide it to one of my doctors who gave me a copy. I find it pretty outrageous that the patient cannot get this directly.
Your pathology report from the surgery should have that kind of detail on it. You can call the hospital you had your surgery done and ask for pathology and tell them you want a copy of the report, you are entitled to it.
I know you are scared. Please go to breastcancer.org and join the discussion board there for much needed info but don't forget to post us here to let us know how you are.
Dear bs76: With this limited amount of information, we cannot provide information on staging or prognosis. The PET scan is being done for the purposes of completing the staging evaluation. Prognosis would take into consideration stage and , in addition to the number of lymph nodes involved, your age, the size of the tumor, the histologic grade and expression of hormone receptors (ER and PR) and/or Her2neu will influence prognosis. Your best source for answers to your questions is your oncologist. He/she has all of the correct information and will be best able to discuss stage, prognosis and options.
