Stereotatic Biopsy

Stereotatic Biopsy

I had a stereotactic biopsy of my left breast approximately 2 weeks ago. Results were described to me as "appears to be normal breast tissue" but recommendation was to follow up with a breast surgeon. Now after 2 weeks I am having pain in my breast that feels like fire. I still have large bruises on the underside of my breast but it's not tender to the touch at the bruise site. Pain feels deep in the breast. Is this normal? Pain after the procedure was not too bad and was controlled by taking tylenol and applying ice. Not sure why after 2 weeks this pain has started. Any ideas?

Dear pinstripes1013: With the bruises you describe, it may be that you have a hematoma.  Hematomas are basically bruises but the source may be deeper in the tissue.  Of course, without evaluation, it is impossible to determine.  You should mention this to your doctor.
