Swelling behind the eye

by Moebius, Jun 08, 2007 12:00AM
My 17 year old son recently underwent a unique 18 hour operation whereby a muscle from the inner thigh was removed and transplanted in his cheek.  He was born with Moebius Syndrome (causes facial paralysis)and has no 6th & 7th cranial nerve.  The operation was a success and doctors are happy with his progress.  Before he was discharged, he complained about blurred vision and there was no reason to suspect any complication because of the op.

We have since taken him for an eye test and the optometrist says there is swelling behind the eye.  My question to you is, will this go down given time or should we take him to a Opthamologist for further testing.

Sorry you haven't had any response to your questions. Most probably because this is a breast cancer site. Try and find an opthalmic site for an answer. I would go back to the surgeon who did the operation for his opinion.
Liz.
