Tomaxacin

by Ingem2, Oct 23, 2008 11:58AM
I had positive estrogen in my left breast 2004 DCIS 2mm I have been on
Tomasacin for 3 1/2 years  I want to stop now my Dr. wants me to stay on
for another 1 1/2 to get five.   I hear so many controversy.  I heard 3 years is
enough.   My Dr. said because it was so small I can stop in 5 years.

I also know a freind that did the Tomaxacin for 2 years and then Arimtheix
now.  She got Uterus cancer.   So now I want to get off very disappointed.

Now I feel when I stop I will get it back and I want to stop now.

Help me.

Tamoxifen for 5 years is the standard medical practice for Estorgen positive tumors. I'm not quite clear as to why you want to stop the drug. We never have to accept any form of treatment that is recommended but you should discuss this in detail with your Oncologist before stopping any treatment. Some pt.s are switched to another drug if they experience severe side effects from Tamoxifen but since you've been on it for over 3 years this isn't the case with you.   Regards ...
